Start with confidence thanks to our Training Clinics

To ensure all participants are as well prepared as possible for the start of the dsm firmenich Long Course Weekend Netherlands, we are joining forces with Nature Sports & Events. Together, we are organising a series of focused swim, bike and run clinics in the lead up to the event in Maastricht.

These clinics focus on technique, efficient training, injury prevention and smart race preparation, helping you approach the event with more confidence, enjoyment and control. Whether you are participating for the first time or looking to improve your performance, the sessions are accessible and valuable for all levels.

The clinics are organized by Nature Sports & Events in collaboration with strong local partners such as Tri-Center Maastricht, TriBikeSolutions, and Lopers Company Maastricht. Each an expert in their field, with a passion for sustainable and efficient sports experiences.

What training sessions can you expect?

In the lead up to the event, we offer several preparatory sessions aligned with the three disciplines of the dsm firmenich Long Course Weekend Netherlands:

  • Open water swim clinics with a focus on navigation, mass starts and technique
  • Bike clinics on parts of the official course, covering safe riding, gear shifting, nutrition and group riding skills
  • Run clinics with a focus on running technique, strength and injury prevention

All sessions start and finish at Nature Sports & Events in Maastricht and combine theory, practical training and personal tips from experienced coaches. This way you do not just train more, but train smarter towards the event.

Run Clinic – Wednesday 18 March

The first confirmed session is the official Run Clinic on Wednesday 18 March. During this evening, the focus is on running more efficiently, improving technique and reducing the risk of injuries.
You will follow a combination of running technique training and functional strength training specifically designed for runners, with exercises you can immediately apply in your preparation towards the Long Course Weekend.

Programme:

  • 19:00 Arrival and welcome at Nature Sports & Events
  • 19:15 Start of training: running technique and functional strength training for runners
    • Practical exercises focused on technique, posture, energy efficient running and injury prevention
  • 20:00 Short break
  • 20:15 Continuation of training and applying technique in practice
  • 21:00 Q and A on shoe advice, training frequency, clothing and event preparation
  • 21:15 End of the clinic

After the session, there is an optional fitness test available, including lactate or heart rate testing, with personal advice and the option to receive a tailored training plan towards the Long Course Weekend.

The clinic is suitable for all levels and will help you stand at the start with greater confidence, improved technique and a more efficient training approach.

Participation fee: €10 per person. The additional fitness test costs €95 and can be easily added in step 2.
